Scaper's Soil is an active substrate that's ideal for plant and aquascaping aquariums. It's available in two sizes.

With Scaper's Soil, create a professional foundation in your NanoCube. Scaper's Soil is an active aquarium-based active subsoil with volcanic ash that creates slightly acidic and soft water, as most animals and plants in this habitat need. Scaper's Soil is especially suitable for plant aquariums, including aquascaping and shrimp aquariums.

From 100% natural resources, it's made from carefully selected natural soils that provide all the vital minerals and trace elements that aquarium plants need. The irregularly shaped grains with a diameter of 1-4 mm make the soil look particularly natural, oxygenate it, prevent fouling and attract important microorganisms that are needed for the development of baby shrimp. The loose structure allows optimal soil perfusion, which is why plant roots grow well in it. Scaper's Soil is the perfect basis for healthy and powerful plant growth with intense colours - even mosses benefit from it, resulting in compact growth and lush green leaves.

The deep black colour creates an intense, vibrant contrast to the bright green of the plants.
With Scaper's Soil, actively prevent annoying algae growth. The special formula results in nutrients that benefit plants, but not algae. Thanks to the nutrient buffer function, excess nutrients are absorbed from the water and released back to the plants when needed. The powerful growth of aquarium plants is the best algae protection ever, because well-growing plants are the toughest algae competitors!
Scaper's Soil is perfect for soft waterscapes with acidic water values because the soil has active ion exchange properties. As a result, the pH is lowered and stabilised in a slightly acidic range at about pH 6.0-6.5. In addition, it reduces the carbonate hardness, depending on the source water up to 0° dKH, and serves as a natural source of valuable humic and fulvic acids, without colouring the water! Scaper's Soil creates water values that are found in most habitats of our fish and is perfect for keeping and breeding soft water shrimps such as Crystal Red or Red Bees.

Despite the soft water, Scaper's Soil can also be safely used in combination with a CO2 system, as the pH is stabilised by the soil. The porous surface also provides cleaning bacteria with an ideal environment, so that the whole base becomes a huge bio-filter with enormous self-cleaning power. At the same time, the soil binds numerous pollutants. The granules are double-fired and therefore water-stable in the long term, which is why it is also ideal for soil filters.
